What is SLS-free kids toothpaste?

Many toothpaste brands contain a chemical called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), a powerful detergent commonly used in other cleaning products we find in homes – in shampoos, shower gels and soaps.

Studies have shown that SLS can cause skin irritation, so does putting it in our children's toothpastes increase their risk of mouth pain and ulcers?

Dr Chris van Tulleken concludes that studies have shown there is certainly evidence to show that SLS-free toothpaste reduces mouth pain and can speed up the healing of ulcers.
